What inspired you to write your memoir?
I was inspired to write my memoir by the decision of the internationally acclaimed novelist Chinua Achebe’s decision to publish his memoirs on the same conflict in his book “There was a country called Biafra”.
About your Book:
The Nigerian civil war is a true life story of the events that happened during the Nigerian civil war in St Mary’s hospital Umuahia, located in southeastern Nigeria. It is all eyewitness account of the events that unfolded in this hospital during one of Africa’s bloodiest conflicts.
How did you decide how to publish your book and where is it published through:
I decided to publish it both in my country and on amazon through the persuasion of some famous publishers in my country,all of whom drew my attention to amazon.
How do you see writing a Memoir as different from writing other genres of books?
Writing a memoir is different from writing books of other genres because of their historical and non-fictional contents.
Author Bio:
Ngozi Ogbonna was born in 1947 in Umuahia, southeastern Nigeria to a peasant farmer and his wife.She trained as a nurse/midwife before proceeding for further studies in Political science.She practiced nursing and midwifery for many years before ending up in the Nigerian civil service from which she retired.She is married with three children.
