What inspired you to write your memoir?
I was asked by my little boy to write this book about his life and experiences to help teach people not to fear death. He as diagnosed with leukemia at age three and lived an incredible life until he died right after his 9th birthday. But his life was not spent dreading the future. In fact, he taught thousands of people how to live with hope, humor and love rather than anger, fear and regret.
About your Book:
Leukemia hit Cory at three, but this incredible boy never let it defeat his spirit. Shirley Enebrad, award-winning TV producer and writer, details in Over
the Rainbow Bridge—My Son’s Journey from Here to Heaven how Cory used his disease to teach others to, in his own words, “LIVE like there’s no tomorrow,
LOVE with all your heart.” A close friend of On-Death-and-Dying Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, Cory lived the message that we have no reason to fear death.
Filled with hope, humor, and inspiration, Over the Rainbow Bridge spreads the message this brave soul presented to the world. Award-winning TV producer and writer, Shirley Enebrad shares the absorbing story of her incredible son’s short life. Never wallowing in self-pity, she gives the reader a personal yet
even-handed view of coping with a fatal disease. She covers it all—sadness, yes, but also humor, drama, mystery, and even “other worldly” experiences.
her son’s message of living every moment to the fullest rises above the sorrow of impending death.

How did you decide how to publish your book and where is it published through:
After many years of research, I published through Book Publisher Network because I wanted to retain full control over my words, my son’s extraordinary life story and the length of time I could promote his story to the world. I interviewed many authors who were dissatisfied with how they were treated by the big publishing houses and I saw my future very clearly. The amount of money authors are paid and the lack of control made my decision very easy for me.
