Author Ken Levine joins BookGoodies podcast hosts Deborah Carney and Karen Garcia to talk about books, writing and current projects.
The Me Generation… By Me (Growing Up in the ‘60s) is a first-person account documenting the day to day trials and tribulations of growing up in that confusing era. Author Ken Levine takes the hysterical rather than historical approach, recounting with affection the bomb drills, dress codes, Beatlemania, Monkeemania, Batman, Haight-Ashbury, the Man from U.N.C.L.E., love ins, be-ins, Laugh In, and so much more.
Ken Levine grew up in Woodland Hills and attended UCLA before becoming a disc jockey and later a writer, director and producer associated with some of television’s most iconic series, among the Cheers (for which he won an Emmy), MASH, Frasier, Wings and The Simpsons. He was also the host of the post-game Dodger Talk for eight years and now satiates his love of baseball as a play-by-play announcer for the Seattle Mariners. He has published two other books: IT’S GONE!…NO, WAIT A MINUTE, a daily diary of his year as a play-by-play announcer for the Baltimore Orioles, and WHERE THE HELL AM I? TRIPS I HAVE SURVIVED, a compilation of humorous travelogues from around the world. It continues to be one of Amazon’s top selling travel books. Ken also writes a popular daily blog, “By Ken Levine” (KenLevine.blogspot.com) which was named one of the 25 Best Blogs of 2011 by Time Magazine.
