What inspired you to write your memoir?
The events that took place on this “vacation” are almost unbelievable, I knew I had to share my story with the world.
About your Book:
Less than 48 hours after arriving in Turkey for a 10-day vacation exploring the Mediterranean, a huge earthquake struck killing over 17 000 people. The town that we went to, Golcuk, was almost totally destroyed – it was hard to imagine that people actually got out alive. We were there for four days before leaving to continue our trip around the Med, only to be robbed of all ID, travel documents, money, credit cards. All of this occurred in a country where I had no consular representation. This book is the story of my 10-day vacation that became 2 weeks and the months that followed.
How did you decide how to publish your book and where is it published through:
My book is self published for Kindle only.
How do you see writing a Memoir as different from writing other genres of books?
For me fact is always different from fiction. Personally, I enjoy reading and writing both, but the creativity involved in each are quite different.
Author Bio:
I have lived most of my life in Barbados, and have traveled throughout the Caribbean, North America, Europe, the UK and lived for 2 years in Guyana (that story may become a book one day too). Traveling is my passion. I also love animals, nature in general and skiing.
