What inspired you to write your memoir?
I never had a healthy relationship with my father. After he died in 2009, I was in denial. Six months later I checked into a Christian recovery program for women to deal with my depression. Through that time, I was able to grieve not only the loss of my father, but the relationship we never had.
I kept thorough journals of my year there, and turned them into a book, which are letters to my dad. It’s a healing, restoring message.
