What inspired you to write your memoir?
Wanting to share both my adventure and the truth that dreams can come true, if you are willing to work for them. Of course, since the dream was to get out of the corporate world to pursue a writing career, it was to a certain degree an essential part of the process.

About your Book:

Cynthia Clampitt is an award-winning writer, geographer, food historian, and public speaker. She has pursued her interests in culture, history, and food across six continents. How did you decide how to publish your book and where is it published through:
Deciding to publish was easy, since that was the whole point of walking away from a highly successful career. While I’ve had hundreds of articles published, and have written or am under contract to write other books, this is the book that is anchored to my dream, and therefore is closest to my heart.

I published through CreateSpace, as it offered me a swifter way to get the book to market.

What inspired you to write your memoir?
So far, my life story has been an unbelievable roller coaster ride of overcoming the odds of a life that began under less than desirable circumstances. My life story is just to inspirational to keep to myself, so I was compelled to write it down and share it with the world.

About your Book:
My book is titled “You Cannot Find Peace Until You Find All The Pieces” it chronicles a search for my father, a man I desired to meet face-to-face. The searched lasted eighteen years. It led me to discover my ancestry, which provided the documentation that I needed to finally locate my father. I was able to find the plantation where my dead ancestors lived as slaves, brothers and a sister whom I didn’t know existed before I found my living father.

This work also chronicles the role of God in my life and how my belief in Jesus Christ has transformed me and given me the strength to overcome a less than desirable childhood. The most consequential of these was a teenage pregnancy and my life as a teen mother.

How did you decide how to publish your book and where is it published through:
I’m a first time self published author. I published my book with lulu.com because lulu.com is a highly recommended and ethical publishing organization.

How do you see writing a Memoir as different from writing other genres of books?

Author Bio:
Ms. Marie Maiden is the youngest of five children. She was born in Washington, DC on May 24, 1964, her parents separated when she was very young. She was raised by her mother and grandmother. During the teenaged years of her life certain decisions were made for her life that created problems for her that she never imagined or intended. The book “You Cannot Find Peace Until You Find All The Pieces” is the story of what Marie did to save her life from complete ruin.

What inspired you to write your memoir?
So many crazy things happened in my life that I just had to write about them. Managed to fill three volumes so far. Maybe now people will understand what makes me tick.

About your Book:
I was born on Friday the 13th, the only Friday the 13th incidently, in the year I was born. I have led an interesting life, with many strange, odd incidents. However some good things happened which you see when I show you the wonderful letters my “Pen Pal” from Hong Kong wrote me and finally after six years we got together. I write about school, college baseball, bad jobs with great satire.

How did you decide how to publish your book and where is it published through:
Since regular book publishers treat no authors like the plague I searched for an indie e-book publisher. I found that publisher at Smashwords.com

How do you see writing a Memoir as different from writing other genres of books?
Yes, must be from the heart. Must so you warts and all. Must reveal secrets you would rather not tell

Author Bio:
I totally confused my New Jersey and went to college at the University of Arizona – had never been further west than Philadelphia. Got a degree in History & Governemnt and strated law school. Interrupted by the Nixon lotto when I drafted into the Army in 1970. After two amazing years (in Vol. 2 of my autobiography), I went back to law school. Finished 1 1/2 years of law school (guess I’m a half-assed lawyer) and worked for the City of Tucson in the City Clerk’s office. Then weirdly got hired as a Park Ranger out of the blue (also somewhere in the autobiography of 3 volumes.

Then the Park Rangers were disbanded (Jim Ronstadt, Linda’s brother needed $250,000 to repair his new wiped out golf course) so I headed to Las Vegas to make my living betting on baseball games (I had a system!) Of that didn’t work (see why my autobiography is aptly titled “My Only Crime Was Being Born”?

So I went back to college at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and got a second degree in Accounting.

Since then I have been an auditor with the US Army and now the Air Force written audit reports for over 30 years. I first wrote my book in the 1987 in Seoul, Korea. I have extensively revised and improved my investing book since then. Also I have written my own newsletter showing the best stocks for my book for over 15 years.

What inspired you to write your memoir?
We had a story to tell. So many times we sat round a dinner table and told our stories, and people laughed at the things that have happened to us, it just had to be told.

About your Book:
‘Seriously Mum, What’s an Alpaca?’ is the frank and charming story of a brave couple who risk everything to move to Spain to breed alpacas. Their intention is to make a living, but first they must negotiate their way through the Spanish property market, local characters, rogue builders and the worst weather Andalucía has seen for 100 years.

Alan and Lorna experience the joy, but also the heartbreak of alpaca breeding, picking up an assortment of stray animals on the way.

‘Seriously Mum, What’s an Alpaca?’ may be full of glorious highs and monumental lows, but it is essentially a story of endeavour and spirit, living each day as though it may be the last.

How did you decide how to publish your book and where is it published through:
I started this journey since the advent of Kindle etc, so I self published my paperback through a company called Feedaread in the UK, and I used a new digital publisher called Antpress.org to release my ebook, as I did not know about formatting etc, this was much easier for me. Luckily I had an artist friend who helped with cover design:)

How do you see writing a Memoir as different from writing other genres of books?
This is the first book I have ever written, and I think it is a great place to start. the story is there, you just have to learn how to get it across to the readers in the right way.

What inspired you to write your memoir?
I wrote this book based on the 8 years I lived in Salt Lake City… filled with marriage, lies. spies, and poverty. It has been a work of love and healing for me… more importantly it is a book that will let people know that crazy people actually are real and dealing with them will affect you.

About your Book:Matthew Timion’s “Leaving Salt Lake City” is the story of a personal train wreck. The story starts when he moves to Salt Lake City to live an idyllic life with the woman of his dreams and the child they later adopt. Suddenly, his perfect life turns into a nightmare filled with spies, lies, betrayal, and enduring poverty. Matthew must forge a new life for his son and for himself by becoming the leader of his own life while facing the painful reality of truly meeting the woman he married for the first time.

Self published through amazon

How do you see writing a Memoir as different from writing other genres of books?
I can only write about my own experiences. Anything else (fiction, etc) is beyond me

Author Bio:
Matthew Timion was born and raised in Moline, IL. At the age of sixteen he moved to Placentia, California. Years later – after his father’s death – he went on an interesting journey by joining the Mormon Church. Eventually leaving the Mormon Church he relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah and eventually became the proud father of his adopted son.

Matthew currently resides in the Chicago area with his son. A computer programmer by profession Mr. Timion writes his life experiences in his spare time.
