Author Linda Campanella joins BookGoodies podcast host Deborah Carney to talk about books, writing and current projects.

Born in Longmeadow, Mass., and now a long-time resident of West Hartford, Conn., Linda Campanella is a management and planning consultant who assists nonprofit organizations of all sizes and missions identify and achieve their strategic goals. In previous stops along her career path she was a corporate executive in the aerospace industry, a senior administrator at a private college, and an international trade negotiator in the executive branch of the federal government.

She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Amherst College, where she majored in German, and she earned a master’s in international business from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Joe, and they have three grown sons.

When All That’s Left of Me Is Love, Linda’s first book, was written very soon after her terminally ill mother’s death in 2009 and was published in 2011. The memoir takes readers on an intimate and emotional journey from day of diagnosis through moment of death and into the few months of Linda’s being a motherless daughter. Although born of death and written by a grieving daughter, this book is uplifting and full of life, and it offers inspiring lessons for living fully and joyfully. Linda’s memoir has earned accolades and awards that include a gold medal in the Living Now 2012 Book Award program and a 2012 Nautilus Silver Award; the Nautilus book awards “are given to print books of exceptional merit that make a literary and heartfelt contribution to spiritual growth, conscious living, and positive social change as they stimulate the imagination and inspire the reader to new possibilities for a better world.”

Hollywood personality Amy Weber joins BookGoodies host Deborah Carney to discuss her recently published a guide to Making it in Show Business aimed at helping newcomers avoid some of the potentially dangerous traps lurking just behind the scenes of this glamorous industry. The book is based on lessons she learned, both as a model, and as the owner of a successful modeling agency.

Amy is a successful Hollywood personality who has found ways to help others. Amy took some time out from her success as a model & actress to start her family (with the birth of her twins – who are coming up on their third birthday). Instead of the traditional I had a baby, look at me now approach we see so often these days, Amy has instead concentrated her efforts on finding a way to help others.

In addition, Amy is producing and hosting a new reality series called GOOD SAMARITANS which focuses on the people we meet every day and just how we look at and help out those who are in need. GOOD SAMARITANS is airing on DISH Network, DirecTV, and starting on syndicated stations across the country shortly. She is also producing and starring in CROSSROAD, a faith based family film which will be in theatres later this year, plus her first album is making a rapid rise through the BILLBOARD charts!

Barry Adkins has shared with tens of thousands of people the dangers of binge drinking, and his experience of losing his 18 year old son, Kevin, to alcohol poisoning. The day that was supposed to mark the beginning of Kevin’s adult life, turned out to be his last, and Barry’s message is both a powerful inspiration and a warning about the consequences of even one night of binge drinking.. Barry’s compelling presentation has saved countless lives and is fulfilling his dream to “make something very good” come from his son’s death. In 2007, Barry set out on an epic 1400 mile journey, and walked from Arizona to Montana with his son’s ashes in his backpack.
